As someone new to preparing matcha myself, I’ve always felt a bit intimidated by the “proper” way to make it—but this turned out to be such a simple and fun experience. I whisked this one up with a handheld frother, which created a light, creamy foam with ease. After preparing it, I stepped outside for a moment just to take in that vibrant emerald green color—and it really was one of those simple, peaceful tea moments. 💚
I’ve had matcha in the past that leaned heavily vegetal or grassy, but this one felt remarkably smooth and creamy in comparison. The umami notes really stood out here—that savory, almost brothy depth that gives the tea a fuller, more rounded flavor and enhances its natural sweetness.
The flavor was clean and balanced with no harsh bitterness, making each sip feel calming and centered. When I lightly sweetened it, I added just a touch of local honey, which complemented the natural sweetness beautifully without overpowering the matcha. This is hands down the best Matcha I have ever experienced and loved that I did not have to add any milk. Matcha is often served as a latte and while this would undoubtedly make a fantastic latte, the beauty is the natural buttery creaminess to this exceptional high quality Matcha from Brook 37. I adore so many of Brook 37 teas, and excited to add this to my personal collection.

I am in awe. I’ve been a lover of iced matcha lattes for about a decade now, and this is not only the best one I’ve ever made, but it’s the best one I’ve ever had. This is a gorgeous matcha. It’s a vibrant green color, indicating quality and freshness. It’s smooth, with that classic, vegetal, “green” matcha characteristic. It’s not as grassy as other matchas I’ve tried, and far less bitter. It’s got an umami quality, subtle notes of sweet spinach, and virtually no aftertaste. This is far better than any coffee shop matcha latte I’ve tried.
If you enjoy matcha 🍵I can highly recommend this one. I just made it with fresh infused lavender, water and oat milk. It is a more sweet matcha, not bitter, good quality.

This result was a perfect hearty brew, full flavored and not at all bitter. Up to the usual high standards of Brook37 for sure. I certainly hope there is more on offer sometime soon for additional

I hope this tea will be available again soon. The fragrance lends a sweet honey maltiness, and I could also taste those notes when I steeped the tea. I especially enjoy mine with milk and sugar, since it’s a bold brew. But this tea is smooth without those additions, if that’s your preference. If you’re a fan of breakfast tea blends or Assam in general, you should definitely pick this version up! If you like low/no astringency, but a bold flavor profile, this is an ideal Assam. This brand always delivers top-notch freshness and quality, in beautiful packaging as well.

If you’re looking for the perfect example of an Assam tea then this is it! Assam is my tea of choice, I drink it everyday. I love trying single Estate Assam teas and in my opinion this really is the best. It also holds up extremely well to the addition of milk.
